The artist known as L. Richard is reaching the prime of his career, evidenced both by the masterful balance of color, life and light. Born in Suncheon City, Korea on September 16, 1957, the artist always knew he would paint. After the early art training in the Maisan High School, Richard began the challenging complexities of the 18th century Rococo French Masters.
There is harmony in each Richard composition - a peacefulness in his work. The images, filled with movement, have a quiet presence. He achieves this through sensitive attention to gestures and attitudes, evocative shadows and highlights, and richness of color - all of which are unified by rhythmic compositions. His bright skies and delicate brushwork echo the mastery of Fragonard.
Every inch of Richard's work is full of delight and surprises are tucked away in each piece. His work is collected throughout Europe, Asia and North America.
